Business Traveler
If you are not traveling alone, driving a rental and are on a budget this is your place. Otherwise, I stayed at the Courtyard in West Orange the week before and it is MUCH nicer and safer. Both have easy access to the interstate, but the Courtyard has a Fridays next door. ...read more

The hotel was in great condition, probably because it was built fairly recently. The staff was helpful, but tended to be a little short with us. Hotel is located in the ghetto area and the hotel's corridors smell like something from India. I guess it matches the star rating. Overall, do not stay here unless you are willing to wait for the trains and put up with the location. ...read more

Business Traveler
Hotel is in bad section of town - graffiti on surrounding buildings, trash/litter on street and sidewalk, staff argumentative. Electricity went out on Friday 9/14 at 10 am and did not come back on until Saturday, 9/15 at 3pm. 25 hours with no electricity is unacceptable. Convenient to NYC.
This hotel is newly restored and as such has nice clean rooms. It is very quiet and the bed is very comfortable. The continental breakfast was adequate. It is located close to I-280 making it an easy commute into NYC. There's a train station within walking distance, but I didn't feel safe walking there.
